Missed connecting flights during a stopover in Bogotá
Passengers are solely responsible for complying with the required check-in and boarding times for their connecting flight.
How do connecting flight changes work?
We recommend planning any experiences with enough time in advance, as your itinerary may be subject to changes. Avianca will not be responsible for rescheduling, cancellations, or any other modifications to transportation services, except as provided in the transportation contract and applicable regulations. Likewise, Avianca will not be liable for the passenger's selection or purchase of tourist services outside of the transportation contract signed with the airline.
What are the airline’s baggage policies?
- If your itinerary includes a connection of less than 24 hours in Bogotá (Stopover), you may request at your departure airport that your baggage be checked out upon arrival at El Dorado Airport. This request must be made explicitly before starting your trip. Likewise, you must recheck your baggage for your departing flight from El Dorado Airport. If you DO NOT request to collect your baggage, it will be checked through to your final destination and will remain in transit at El Dorado Airport during your stay in Bogotá, with no access permitted.
What taxes should I take into account?
Answer: You must pay all taxes generated by your city of origin, destination, or selected stopover city, in accordance with the regulations in force in each country. Payment will be made during the ticket purchase process or after the purchase, following the instructions of the competent authorities.
Does it apply to all fares?
Answer: Yes, it applies to all fares issued with an Avianca Group ticket on routes operated by the Avianca Group.
