Cortocinesis, Colombia - 'Ocho'

Five elements—singing, instruments, dance, acting, and circus—come together in a cross-disciplinary exchange, brought to life by eight performers who attempt to communicate from within their own artistic origins. Yet, they have no choice but to embrace each other’s languages in order to express themselves and give meaning to this shared theatrical world. MURMURIA is the latest work by Cortocinesis, an artistic company that for more than two decades has explored the possibilities of communication through a form of theater rooted in the body and dance.

Antonio Ruz, Spain - Pharsalia

The play ‘Pharsalia’ by Seneca's nephew, the Cordovan Marcus Annaeus Lucanus (39-65 AD), the Antonio Ruz Company presents a work that delves into the concept of war. A powerful piece featuring striking staging and costumes, with an original score that moves between the epic and the electronic. Eleven performers use their bodies to explore conflict, crisis, resistance, and escape through choreography filled with violence, subtlety, and theatricality.

Trillizas

Directed by Daniel Galeano, this is a journey full of surprises and emotions, following three brave sisters from Boyacá who, on their way to the capital, leave behind their lives and secrets aboard a “horse-bomb” that will change their destiny. In this hilarious odyssey aboard a chiva (traditional Colombian bus), the skirts of the past are lifted, time bends, and the sisters uncover their most human side through touching and laugh-out-loud moments.

Escenas para un diario

Directed by Daniel Galeano, it is the free version for theater of the novel: Vista desde una acera by Fernando Molano.
