Inaugurated on July 20, 1972, the Bogotá Supply Center, known as Corabastos, is a vital component in the distribution and marketing chain of agricultural products in Colombia.
In October 2024, the Tourism Office of Bogotá (IDT) launched the Corabastos Tourist Corridor, a route designed for both visitors and locals to explore one of the most significant commercial centers in Colombia and Latin America. This new tourist route offers a unique experience that blends gastronomic tradition, history, and the vibrant culture characteristic of this iconic supply center.
Located in the southwest of the city, Corabastos spans over 42 hectares and is home to more than 5,000 stores. It operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, accommodating an average of 12,000 vehicles and serving nearly 80,000 people daily.
As a mixed-economy company, Corabastos is overseen by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Governor's Office of Cundinamarca, and the Mayor's Office of Bogotá, which collectively own 47.92% of the official shares. The commercial sector contributes the remaining 52.08%. This organizational structure reinforces its significance in the country's agri-food sector.
Corabastos is located at Avenida Carrera 80 No. 2-51. To get there by private vehicle, head southwest from Bogotá on Avenida Boyacá until you reach Avenida Carrera 80, then follow the signs to Corabastos. Upon arrival, you will find designated parking areas at the Central, which provide easy access to the facilities.
If you prefer public transportation, you can take the TransMilenio to Portal de Las Américas. From there, catch a feeder bus that will take you close to the main entrance of Corabastos. Alternatively, you can use SITP routes that cover the Kennedy area, which have stops nearby and allow for direct access to the site.
