With an alternate cast featuring Jenny Lara, Paulina Galeano, Bernardo García, and Carlos Ruge, “Señorita X” tells the story of a woman trapped in a cycle of trauma and nightmares, guided and tormented by the mysterious Señor-Y — a character who leads the audience on a journey that questions the nature of human suffering and violence from an unconventional perspective. The play confronts profound and unsettling issues such as sexual abuse, creating a space for deep reflection through suspense and dark humor.
A story of a real woman for real women who have endured painful experiences, the play delves into deeply human themes, unveiling the many layers of trauma and resilience of a woman caught in a cyclical nightmare. She faces extreme situations in what seems like an endless party, questioning her own perceptions and prejudices. The audience is invited to witness a series of traumatic events that shape the protagonist’s life. Yet the play goes beyond pure drama: through its horror-comedy style, the narrative reveals the human side of these experiences, blending laughter with moments of profound reflection on complex issues.
Señorita X has received two recognition grants: the 2024 Grant for Strengthening Stage Production for Theatrical Performances and the 2025 National Circulation Grant – Más Cultura Local.
