Red Bull Batalla is an improvised rap competition that has provided a platform for developing the best Spanish-speaking hip hop freestylers since 2005. In recent years, it has become the most important international freestyle battle event, bringing together countries in Latin America and Spain.
The roots of this scene find a deep connection both in hip-hop and in the improvisational style of traditional troubadours, which has evolved into its own distinctive form in Latin America.
Colombia's best freestyle talent comes together to decide who will take home the National Champion trophy and represent the country in the International Final. This talent is chosen through regional competitions across the country, with 16 winners advancing to a live event broadcast on Red Bull TV.
